Haven't Been able to log in

Ever since Minecraft released the 1.6 update I haven't been able to log in. The main menu bar won't even load. I run on a Linux Mandriva Operating System. The downloadable Minecraft.jar or www.minecraft.net in-browser beta do not load at all. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I've already uninstalled and re-installed java, as well as deleting the old minecraft.jar, re-downloaded it and tried again. To no luck.

Wait, you haven't been able to log into minecraft launcher or the server?

Well, I'm not that good in computer stuff. Sorry. I'll ask the rest of the members if they now. I don't know that much of computerizing, and tech stuff.

I finally got the launcher to let me log in. I now can't login to the server, it says
Connection Lost
Internel Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection Reset
